‘Tis the season to break out the shorties here in the South. Hot soup weather is right around the corner. Jean shorts (also lovingly known as ‘jorts’) are my go-to closet staple.

I have such a hard time finding the perfect plus size jean shorts. I’m super picky. My jean shorts have to meet strict criteria, including just the right amount of stretch, rising to a certain point over my belly, and having exactly 5″ of inseam. Bonus points for cuteness add-ons, including distressing, whiskering, frayed hems, rhinestone accents, embroidery, or back pocket appliques!

Torrid High Rise Midi

This year’s go-to jean shorts come from Torrid. So far, I have one medium-wash and one dark-wash pair of their High Rise Midi Shorts.

I love the button-fly and turned cuffs, but they are a little more plain than I’d usually go for. However, they’re proving to pair nicely with just about any spring look. The stretch is really comfortable, yet supportive. They wash great and do not bleed.

So here’s my first ever OOTD, for a casual day of shopping with my hubby.

New Plus Size Jean Shorts on Poshmark

‘Tis also the season for spring cleaning out the closet, and I’ve spent much of my week purging and listing on Poshmark. I had no idea I’d accumulated so many pairs of shorts – some still new with tags – tucked away. I’m a sucker for a good deal, but it’s totally counterproductive when I forget what I’ve bought and stashed… ooops!
